💙 AUTISM AWARENESS • EDUCATION • COMMUNITY 💙

OTaba Therapy was incredibly privileged to be invited to speak with and educate St. Mary Parish law enforcement officers about autism awareness and strategies and techniques to safely and effectively respond to individuals with autism🚔

A huge shout-out to St. Mary Parish for recognizing the importance of this education and for continuing to learn and grow in this area! 👏💙 Their commitment to better understanding and supporting individuals with autism can make a meaningful difference during emergency and crisis situations.

🧩 Now, we’re asking our community to help👮🏾‍♂️

OTaba Therapy would love to provide each patrol unit with a sensory bag that officers can keep with them at all times. These bags will contain sensory and calming items that officers can use to help make calls calmer, reduce sensory overload, and support de-escalation when a child or individual with autism is experiencing a crisis.

We’re reaching out to individuals, local businesses, and community organizations who would like to help us make this possible🤗

Together, we can help give our officers more tools to support individuals with autism and make our community a safer, more understanding place for everyone. 🧩🚓💙

We are looking to donate bags for 37 units that will run approximately $20 per bag, any donation will help🤗

Damien has a way of stealing everyone’s heart! 🥹 We all have our favorite Damien quote, but it’s hard to beat the daily, “Hi! Are you going to spend time with me?! I love you!” ❤️

He truly has the sweetest soul and is so grateful and appreciative of everything and everyone around him. And, of course, his love for logos has become something we all know and love about him!

🌟 EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH — KIARA! 🌟

If you’ve been at OTABA for any amount of time, chances are you know Kiara! 😂

Kiara is deeply invested in each of her clients and is always willing to step in and support her team—whether they currently work alongside her or have in the past. She’s a natural leader who isn’t afraid to take control of a situation, lend a hand, and make sure everyone has what they need.

And if you know Kiara, you also know she’s LOUD, proud, and always down for a good prank. 😂 Coworkers, supervisors, owners… absolutely no one is safe!

Her big personality, leadership, and dedication to her clients and team are just a few of the reasons we’re so lucky to have her. We’re so happy Kiara is part of the OTABA family and can’t wait to see where this path takes her!

🎉🐱 Help us wish our SLP, Mayci, a VERY Happy Birthday! 🐱🎉

August has kept OTABA busy with lots of birthdays, and each one has been just as special as the next! 💗 We’re so happy we got to celebrate Mayci… AND, of course, her love for cats! 😂🐾

Mayci brings such a calm, comforting presence to her sessions and is a CONSTANT reinforcer for our kiddos. You can usually find a few extra friends hanging out in her room, just hoping it might be their turn to play with Ms. Mayci! 🥰

We’re so thankful to have Mayci as part of our OTABA family! Everyone help us show her some birthday love and wish her the absolute BEST! 🎂🎈💗

One of our OG kiddos, Keagan has been part of the OTABA family for a long time, and we are always so happy to see that sweet smile! 🥰

🚒 Fire Drill Day at OTABA! 🚒

Our kiddos did a great job during today’s fire drill, and of course the best part was getting to check out the fire truck afterward! ❤️

We loved getting an up-close look at the truck and spending a little time with our local firefighters. Thank you for making our fire drills a fun learning experience for our kiddos! 👨‍🚒🚒
