Today marks one year since I officially became divorced after a 23-year relationship.
But the truth is, my journey out of that relationship began several years ago.
The divorce may have become official one year ago today, but the process of finding myself, healing, letting go, and rebuilding my life started long before that.
This past year has brought its share of emotions—grief, uncertainty, difficult days, and moments of reflection. But it has also brought growth, strength, freedom, and a deeper understanding of who I am.
I’ve learned that healing isn’t about forgetting the past or pretending it didn’t hurt. It’s about making peace with it, learning from it, and choosing not to let it define what comes next.
Today, I’m proud of how far I’ve come. I’m grateful for the lessons, proud of the strength it took to leave, and hopeful for the life I’m continuing to create.
One year officially divorced. Several years into choosing myself.
I’m still healing. I’m still growing. And I’m finally feeling excited about what’s ahead. ❤️
