There are days when the weight of leadership feels heavy. Days when you wonder if what you’re pouring into others is making a difference.
Today was one of those days.
I asked one of our incredible CNA’s Dominic, a simple question: “Why do you work here?”
He smiled and told me to grab the note he had left for me.
His words said:
“One of my favorite parts of working here has been connecting with the residents. The relationships and small moments are what matter the most. It feels like one big team working together for the people who need us the most.”
I had to stop for a moment.
In a world that often focuses on tasks, schedules, and challenges, Dominic reminded me what truly matters. It’s the relationships. The little moments. The laughter. The compassion. The teamwork. Those are the things our residents remember long after the day is over.
This is exactly why I do what I do, and why our leadership team pours our hearts into this community every day. We don’t come to work simply to fill schedules or complete tasks. We come to help create a place where residents feel loved, families feel at peace, and employees feel they are part of something bigger than themselves. When we support one another, our residents receive the very best care.
Dominic, thank you. You may have thought you were simply answering a question, but you reminded me that our mission isn’t written on a wall—it’s lived out every day by people with hearts like yours.
This is GlenOaks. This is teamwork. This is family. And this is why we do what we do. ❤️
