We were grateful for the opportunity to serve the New London community by providing PB&J sandwiches and ice-cold water during the heat and humidity. We’re thankful to share a little kindness, comfort, and care with our New London community. 🥪💧☀️

🙏 Volunteer Spotlight: Pastor Gladys Cruz 🙏

Harbor Village Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is proud to recognize Pastor Gladys Cruz of Iglesia Pentecostal Alfa y Omega for her continued dedication to our residents.

After volunteering weekly at Harbor Village Rehabilitation & Nursing Center for two years before COVID-19, Pastor Cruz returned and now visits bi-weekly, providing Christian services in both Spanish and English.

Her passion for helping others and reaching those who may not be able to get out into the community makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. 💙

Our pet visits brought plenty of smiles, laughter, and wonderful moments of companionship. We love creating opportunities for our residents to connect, make memories, and enjoy the simple joys that brighten their day. 💙🐶🐱

We were so happy to welcome musician Izzy Flores back to Harbor Village Rehabilitation & Nursing Center for another wonderful visit! Our residents enjoyed listening to live music, singing along, and sharing plenty of smiles. We’re always grateful for the joy and connection that music brings to our community! 💙🎵

Fresh air, good company, and delicious treats made for a wonderful day at Harbor Village Rehabilitation & Nursing Center!

Our residents enjoyed relaxing on the patio before savoring a little taste of Sweden with freshly baked cinnamon buns. Moments like these bring smiles, spark conversations, and create lasting memories together.

🍕 Therapeutic Cooking Group 🍕 | Part 2

From mixing ingredients to adding their favorite toppings, every step encouraged socialization, confidence, and participation in a meaningful activity. Best of all, everyone enjoyed spending time together—and getting to savor their homemade culinary creations!

🍕 Therapeutic Cooking Group 🍕 | Part 1

Yesterday, our therapy team hosted a therapeutic cooking group where 9 residents prepared their own personal pizzas from scratch! While creating their delicious meals, residents practiced sequencing, following directions, fine motor skills, and functional cognition in a fun, hands-on setting.

Might we add—the hallways smelled just like a little Nonna's kitchen here at Harbor Village Rehabilitation & Nursing Center! 🍕❤️
