Happy Monday! This week, we're coming at ya with kitchen tips and tricks to keep you motivated and informed when it comes to having nutritious and balanced meals on hand 24/7. π
In today's Myth Vs Fact, we're exploring meal prep. We're huge proponents of meal prep not just for our clients, but also for ourselves. We meal prep every Sunday to have breakfasts, lunches, and dinners ready for the week. π
Here's our typical schedule:
Thursday: Choose meals for the following week, make list of ingredients, and cross off any items we already have on hand. βοΈ
Friday evening: Order groceries for delivery or pickup for Saturday morning and clean out your fridge. Make sure you have plenty of room for your groceries! π
Saturday morning: Pick up groceries or go grocery shopping if you choose to do it yourself (βοΈ Pro tip: always grocery shop during less popular hours, as it helps you save time AND money!)
Saturday afternoon: Make your plan. Write down everything that you plan to meal prep and find the most time, energy, and dish-efficient order of operations. π Can both of these veggies be oven roasted at the same temperature? Will you need the same pan for two dishes? Allow time for it to cool down and be washed in between. There's definitely a learning curve to this step, but it makes Sunday so much easier!
Sunday: Meal prep! Clean as you go (wipe up any spills, prep dishes for the dishwasher, etc) to cut down on cleaning time at the end.
There you go! Now you'll have all your meals ready to go for the week. Is it time consuming? Sure is! Is it worth it? You bet! π€©
