Trauma isn’t always a single isolated event. For Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in America, Complex-PTSD (C-PTSD) often stems from chronic, ongoing exposure to racial marginalization, systemic inequities, and generational stress.
​When environmental racism, hypervigilance, and societal oppression follow us into our communities and homes, our nervous systems adapt by staying stuck in constant fight, flight, or freeze.
​Healing requires approaches that move beyond traditional talk therapy and listen to what the body and subcortical brain are holding:
​1️⃣ Brainspotting (BSP): Uses focused eye positions to locate and release trauma stored deep in the subcortical brain—allowing profound healing without requiring you to retell painful stories repeatedly out loud.
​2️⃣ Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR): Reconnects you to your body through grounding body scans and conscious breathwork to down-regulate a hyper-activated nervous system and reclaim inner safety.
​Healing racial trauma is not about fixing a personal flaw—it is about restoring peace, safety, and sovereignty to your body and mind. 🌿✨
