I just returned from a sacred pilgrimage to the Vatican during the Jubilee Year, and my heart is full. During Holy Week, I had the incredible honor of walking through the Holy Doors of St. Peter’s Basilica—a powerful symbol of grace and renewal. I received Communion alongside my family and lifted up prayers for our loved ones, near and far.

One of the most humbling moments was being chosen to serve as a Crossbearer, walking the path of countless pilgrims before me. This experience was deeply moving and truly a high honor for me and my family.

Upon arriving home, we were saddened to learn of the passing of Pope Francis. His life, leadership, and unwavering compassion touched millions, we are grateful to have walked this journey during his final days.

Several days ago, a horrific terrorist attack in New Orleans’ French Quarter claimed the lives of 14 innocent people. After meeting with city officials and the resilient residents of New Orleans, I can confidently say that the resolve of this community is stronger than ever.
