When you have diabetes, checking your feet every day is an important part of foot care—even when your feet feel fine.
Nerve damage can make it harder to feel pain, heat, or cold. That means a cut, blister, sore, or other foot problem may be easier to miss.

Take a moment each day to look for:
- Cuts or sores
- Redness or swelling
- Blisters
- Corns or calluses
- Changes to your skin or nails

Use a mirror to check the bottoms of your feet, or ask someone you trust for help. Contact a health-care professional promptly if you notice a new blister, sore, ulcer, infected corn, or ingrown toenail.
