Dr. Diana Espinoza, Touro Interventional Pulmonologist, discussed the launch of the ION Robotic Bronchoscopy Program here at Touro. Using the ION technology we're able to enhance early detection, accelerate diagnosis, and ultimately change the trajectory of lung cancer survival. Additionally, congratulations to Dr. Espinoza and her team for completing the first two robotic bronchoscopic procedures here at Touro in June. Both cases were diagnostic, completed without complications, and lead to the early diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer for the patients.

Congratulations to the 2026 Kaplan Compassionate Physician Honoree, Pui "Joan" Cheng, MD! Dr. Murrel H. Kaplan was Chief of Internal Medicine at Touro from 1957-1962 and served his patients and the hospital with distinction as a member of the medical staff for 50 years. The Kaplan Compassionate Physician Award is given annually to an active physician affiliated with Touro Infirmary who demonstrates the characteristics of compassion and caring. We have everything we need to provide safe, quality care for high-risk pregnancies,” said Dr. Stacey Holman, Division Director of Women & Children’s Services at Touro and Professor of OBGYN at LSU.
