I didn't forget about this year's 2026 THRIVING t-shirt line! I wanted a message that acknowledged our unapologetic commitment to thriving on purpose! So, this year, I’m sharing two different designs.

The first: “still THRIVING.” If you've been wondering, yes, thriving is still the assignment. It's our daily decision to keep showing up, healing, growing, choosing ourselves, and thriving on purpose.

The second: “thriv.ing UNEDITED.” For me, thriving isn't about perfection. It's about authenticity. It's about embracing every chapter, every lesson, every scar, every joy, and every part of your story without apology.

So, whether your shirt says “still THRIVING” or “thriv.ing UNEDITED”, I hope you wear it as a declaration, not just to the world, but to yourself.

May you thrive always and in all ways.

My heart is filled with gratitude for the opportunity to shed light on anxiety within the Veteran population. Special thanks to the Mental Health Ministry of First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee , for creating a space for learning, connection, and information sharing. I pray that everyone in attendance received exactly what they needed to support their well-being.

Three things you can share with your therapist instead of lying…

1. “I’m not ready to talk about that yet.”

This is honest, direct, and completely acceptable. Readiness matters. A good therapist will respect that boundary while helping you explore what makes the topic feel difficult to approach.

2. “I know this is important, but I don’t feel safe enough or prepared enough to go there today.”

This communicates that the issue matters without forcing immediate disclosure. It also gives your therapist useful information about what may need to happen first, such as building trust, learning coping skills, or establishing greater emotional safety.

3. “I’m avoiding this right now, and I’m not sure why.”

Naming the avoidance can actually become valuable therapeutic work. Your therapist can help explore the fear, uncertainty, shame, grief, or vulnerability underneath it.

Proud of me ‘THEN’ and proud of me ‘NOW.’ I am reclaiming everything that grifters, grief, and grad school stole from me!

Today’s JOY is recognizing that each morning when I rise, I have the opportunity to do what I love!

Yesterday’s boundaries discussion felt therapeutic in so many ways.

As Black women, many of us have been taught to be strong, available, accommodating, and self-sacrificing. We have learned how to show up for others, often without learning how to show up for ourselves with the same consistency and care.

Collectively, we reflected on what boundaries are, what they are not, and what happens when we repeatedly abandon ourselves in the service of others. We talked about the emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual costs of weak or inconsistent boundaries, including burnout, resentment, exhaustion, overwhelm, and diminished peace.

Healthy boundaries are essential to wellness and thriving because they:
-Protect our energy and mental health
-Help us prioritize what matters most
-Reduce resentment and burnout
-Strengthen self-respect and self-trust
-Create healthier, more authentic relationships

One of the most powerful takeaways from today was the reminder that boundaries are not walls. They are invitations to healthier relationships and fuller lives.
Thriving requires intention. And sometimes one of the most courageous acts of self-care is simply saying, “That does not work for me.”

May we continue choosing ourselves consistently, protecting our peace unapologetically, and remembering that our wellbeing matters too.

And we’re off! If you love a hot donut just as much as I do, imagine 12 of them.

I have accepted the challenge of selling 10 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts to support the important work of the Sigma Chi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is a nonprofit organization grounded in the principles of scholarship, service, sisterhood, and finerwomanhood. Our chapter is deeply committed to serving and uplifting our community through meaningful, hands-on initiatives. These efforts include providing local scholarships to graduating seniors, adopting a local school, supporting birthing parents to enhance maternal health outcomes, and raising awareness about intimate partner violence, heart health, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and autism spectrum disorders.

Every donut purchased helps fund these programs and extends our ability to serve with impact and intention. Your support is not just a sweet treat. It is an investment in education, health, advocacy, and the well-being of our community.

Thank you for supporting me, supporting Sigma Chi Zeta, and supporting service that truly makes a difference. 💙🤍
