Stay safe
There’s something becoming very common these days… especially among young people.
Energy drinks.
Everywhere you go now, people are taking them:
To stay awake.
To work longer.
To read all night.
To “boost energy.”
Some people can’t even start their day without one.
---
But working in the hospital has made me see another side of it.
A dangerous side many people ignore.
---
There are patients who come for kidney function tests…
And the results are disturbing.
High urea.
High creatinine.
Signs that the kidneys are struggling.
Sometimes already failing.
---
And when you start talking to some of these patients…
You find out they consume energy drinks excessively.
Almost daily.
Some even combine multiple cans in one day.
---
Now let me say this carefully and honestly:
Not every kidney failure is caused by energy drinks alone.
Kidney disease can happen due to:
- High blood pressure
- Diabetes
- Infections
- Drug abuse
- Other medical conditions
But excessive intake of energy drinks can contribute to serious stress on the body, especially when mixed with:
- Poor hydration
- Lack of sleep
- Alcohol
- Excessive supplements or medications
---
Many energy drinks contain high amounts of:
- Caffeine
- Sugar
- Stimulants
And when used excessively over time…
The body pays the price.
Especially the kidneys and heart.
---
What scares me is how normalized it has become.
People are surviving on:
- Little sleep
- Constant caffeine
- Stress
- Dehydration
Then ignoring the warning signs.
---
Your body is not a machine.
It gets tired.
And when the kidneys start getting damaged…
The consequences are serious.
Because once kidney failure becomes advanced…
Life changes completely.
Dialysis.
Frequent hospital visits.
Financial stress.
Physical weakness.
---
Sometimes, when I see young patients with abnormal kidney function results, it honestly hurts.
Because many people don’t realize the damage until it becomes severe.
---
Please, take care of your kidneys.
Drink enough water.
Rest properly.
Reduce excessive energy drink intake.
Stop overworking your body like it has no limits.
---
And if you notice symptoms like:
- Persistent weakness
- Swelling
- Reduced urination
- Unexplained body changes
Please go for proper medical checkup.
---
This is not fear-mongering.
It’s awareness.
Because from what we see in the hospital…
Many people are silently damaging their health in the name of “keeping up.”
---
Your health is more important than temporary energy.
Protect it while you still can.
Stay safe.
