THE FIRST HERBAL CLINIC OF THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR! 🌿

A new school year is beginning, and with it comes a new season of learning, growing, and serving our community. We’re so excited to welcome our new students and our returning students as they begin their year of clinic! 🌱

Our first community herbal clinic of the year will be:

This is a special time for our students to put their learning into practice while offering meaningful, individualized herbal support to members of our community - all with the guidance and supervision of our experienced core faculty.

Clients will receive a personalized herbal consultation and wellness protocol designed around their individual needs, goals, and overall vitality.

We’re so excited to open the clinic doors again and begin another year of learning, connection, and community care. 💚

There is no perfect moment to begin studying herbalism.

Often, the journey begins with a quiet curiosity - a desire to know the plants around us, care for our communities, and deepen our connection with the natural world.

At ArborVitae, students learn through relationship: with plants, with place, and with one another. Our Three-Year Clinical Herbalism Program weaves together botany, materia medica, medicine making, clinical herbalism, energetics, nutrition, and more with such an amazing group of core teachers, guest teachers and peers.

Our September cohort is still accepting applications on a rolling basis.

Learning herbalism happens in many places.

In the classroom. Out in the field. Around the medicine-making table. In conversation with teachers and classmates. And often, during the quiet moments in between.

Our hybrid program brings these experiences together through live online classes and monthly weekends in New Paltz. Students join us from across the tri-state area, gathering throughout the year to learn with the plants, their teachers, and one another.

We believe some of the richest learning happens not only in the classroom, but in the relationships that grow through returning to the same place, season after season.

An herbal education rooted in relationship.

At ArborVitae, learning herbalism is about more than studying plants. It’s about developing relationships - with the plants, your teachers, your peers, and the practice itself.

Students explore a range of herbal traditions while receiving hands-on training, clinical experience, and mentorship from experienced practitioners. Along the way, they’re supported in discovering the approaches that resonate most deeply with them and cultivating a practice of their own.

Happy Summer Solstice! 🌞

Today marks the longest day and shortest night of the year on the northern hemisphere. The Summer Solstice is a time to celebrate utter abundance of the earth, through all the blooms of nature and a deep connection to the element of fire.

Communities across the world have been celebrating this day for centuries, using this time to call in the warmth of light as it illuminates the fire within us all.
