Another amazing idea from InventiDad!
We have been looking for a way to make large grills for our big red barn (and possibly pizza oven). Then my dad went to a farm for his irrigation business and the farmer had to get rid of the filters since they were no longer of use.
Dad right away called me and now we are on our way to have two beautiful grills.
Can’t wait to see and show off the finished product! It’ll actually be at our first farm to table collaboration dinner with Radio Woodstock 100.1 which I’m also super excited about, and you can sign up today on there website 👩‍🍳
So our week started off a bit rocky, but with the downs comes the ups 🌞

Before this mind you I was crying for a solid 30 mins, but Joey, my dad and my amazing mechanic Sean Crimmins reminded me that it is not the end of the world especially since it was caught before I turned on the tractor.
I not only feel so blessed to have amazing people surrounding me so that when something like this happens I feel supported, but also a big reminder that’s why you have to know how to pivot in farming.
Also being pregnant and dealing with these situations makes a little less calming with all the emotions that quickly flood in.
By this video I knew it could be dealt with, and fixed, so did it slow some of my to dos down? Yes, but did it also teach me a lesson, and help me to grow for next time? Yes
So no matter what your day to day is remember the situation can be resolved and there are mistakes being made everywhere, just sometimes it happens to be you who is the one who made them.

What’s in season in New Paltz NY? Well at our farm this is currently what we are harvesting this time of year in this area.
Seasonal eating is something that I not only started to do on accident, but now try to maintain as the year goes on. Eating what I know is fresh and available at this time. Sometimes I do get a little sad not eating tomatoes in the winter, but I know that it not only takes a stance on food, but in food production.

Come pick your own!
We have lots of flowers in bloom right now ready for you to pick and fall in love with. I’m all about having some fresh home decor in the house in this season. I definitely even dry some so I can have some decor for the winter time.
Zinnias are great for drying, and once we have our marigolds they are too, so take some home to dry for winter or just a fresh bouquet to fill your weekend with some color.

It’s feeling much more real these days.
As a woman I always was a little scared of the unknown of having a a baby and running a farm, but as time goes on I feel like the baby is helping to level me out, and be more confident in my womanhood as a female farmer.
This little one is already getting used to hearing roaring engines, loving community, and happy excited greeting from dad when he gets home.
This is just another part of the farming journey, and I can’t believe how fast it’s going!

The time of year where harvest and planting meet!
People always ask when do we harvest, and because we are a multi-crop farm we are always harvesting. Most farms in the US are mono-crop farms, and this means only one. But here we have so many!
This time of year is when we are still planting but things are now flourishing, and popping up everywhere. Soon our tomatoes will turn color, our garlic will start to be harvested, and more and more yummy veggies will be in our store for us to share with you.
