Boundaries vs. Rules in Relationships š
They can sound similar, but thereās an important difference.
A boundary communicates what you are comfortable with and what you will do to take care of yourself.
A rule tells someone else what they can or cannot do.
For example:
š£ļø Boundary: āIf we start yelling at each other, Iām going to take a break and come back to the conversation when weāre calmer.ā
š« Rule: āYouāre not allowed to get angry with me.ā
Healthy relationships need boundaries. They help create respect, safety, and clear communication without trying to control another person.
Boundaries arenāt about controlling someone elseātheyāre about knowing what you need and what youāre willing to accept in a relationship. š
