Your blood pressure is a story, not a snapshot. Log morning and bedtime readings for 3–7 days, then bring your log and monitor to every doctor visit. Call FMD if readings repeatedly exceed your goal, or low readings cause dizziness or fainting. Over 180/120? Repeat after one minute. Still high without red flags? Call FMD ASAP. With chest pain, shortness of breath, back pain, numbness, weakness, vision change or trouble speaking, call 911. 🫀

Prediabetes can be easy to miss when you feel well. Understanding how insulin works—and what your blood tests mean—gives you a useful place to start. Your next step does not have to be a complete lifestyle overhaul. Ask which test is right for you, then choose one realistic habit to build on with your care team.

Make your next sip simple. 💧 Choose water, black coffee, or unsweetened black/green tea. Swap out juices, smoothies—even with protein—sodas, energy drinks and alcohol for everyday hydration.

Need creaminess or sweetness? Try a small splash of heavy cream or a little stevia/monk fruit; aim for plain over time.

Sugar-free electrolyte powder, like LMNT, is optional when needed. LMNT has 1,000 mg sodium per packet—check with your clinician if you have sodium restrictions.

Four categories can reveal much more than four basic numbers. Correct home blood-pressure readings show your usual trend. Glucose, A1C, fasting insulin, and HOMA-IR can add metabolic context. Start with the standard lipid profile; when helpful, ApoB, Lp(a), hs-CRP, lipoprotein fractionation, or a CAC scan can look deeper.

The right mix depends on your history. Bring your numbers and let’s connect the dots. 📊

Prescription GLP-1 receptor agonists—and dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonists—can lower appetite and food intake. That makes nutrition quality, hydration and a resistance-training plan more important, not less.

Weight loss can include both fat and lean tissue. A 2025 multi-society advisory recommends pairing obesity medication with individualized nutrition and lifestyle support. Protein matters, but protein alone is unlikely to fully preserve muscle without structured resistance training. For most adults, national activity guidance includes muscle-strengthening work on at least two days each week, adapted to health and ability.

Track more than pounds: strength, energy, food and fluids, tolerance and side effects all matter. These medicines are prescription-only, approved for specific indications, and require individualized evaluation and follow-up. Results and side effects vary; gastrointestinal effects are common.

Ultra-processed foods matter for more than calories. 🍟
Research suggests diets high in ultra-processed foods can encourage people to eat more. Higher intake has also been associated with increased markers of systemic inflammation and poorer cardiovascular, metabolic and overall health outcomes. 🔥
The strongest controlled evidence shows increased calorie intake. Much of the inflammation and long-term health evidence is observational—so association does not prove that one food causes disease.
The goal isn’t perfection. Start with one simple swap:
🥤 Sugary drink → water or sparkling water
🍓 Packaged snack → fruit and yogurt
🥗 Convenience side → vegetables, beans or whole grains
Small, consistent changes can improve the overall quality of your diet.

Semaglutide vs. Tirzepatide: What’s the difference? 🤔
Both are once-weekly prescription medications used in medically supervised weight management—but they activate different receptor pathways:
🔵 Semaglutide activates GLP-1
Helps reduce hunger, increase fullness, slow stomach emptying and support blood-sugar control.
🟣 Tirzepatide activates GIP + GLP-1
Combines two complementary signals that influence appetite, insulin response and after-meal blood sugar.
Major obesity trials have reported approximate average body-weight reductions of:
• Semaglutide: 13–17%
• Tirzepatide: 20–22%
Neither medication is automatically right for everyone. The best choice depends on your health history, goals, side effects, medication response and access.

Prescription and medical evaluation required. Trial averages are not guaranteed individual results and come from studies with differing doses, populations and designs. Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation and abdominal discomfort.
