It's craft time!
If you are looking for a fun, fall activity to do with the kids this October, try making mini paper pumkins!

All you need is:
-Colored or patterned paper of choice
-Paper Cutter
-Double Sided Tape
-Hot Glue and Glue Gun
-Sticks
-Twine
-Scissors

✨ Ever wonder what happens before your child's appointment even begins? More than you'd think. Behind every visit at The Pediatric Center in New Providence, NJ, a team is quietly reviewing growth charts, past visit notes and lab results so nothing slips through.

For more than 30 years, our Providers have built this practice around knowing each family, not just treating a symptom. Our in-office lab supports Bright Futures New Providence screenings, including vision, hearing, blood and urine work, plus rapid testing for flu, COVID and strep, so results often come back the same day instead of days later. That groundwork means less waiting and more real conversation once you're in the room.

Wondering what’s going around?

We’re keeping an eye on illnesses affecting kids in our community and sharing the latest available New Jersey and national data to help keep our families informed.

Here’s what we’re seeing and what state and national data show as we settle into fall.

This week, colds and strep continue to be on the rise, while flu activity remains low but is beginning to increase. We’ve swapped RSV out of this week’s update — it remains relatively quiet — and added stomach virus, which is more relevant to what families may be encountering right now.

And remember — if your child isn’t acting like themselves, we’re here to help. Call us for a scheduled sick visit or telehealth appointment, or come right in during our weekday walk-in hours:

Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM–12:30 PM & 2:00–5:00 PM
Friday: 8:30 AM–12:30 PM & 2:00–4:00 PM
Weekend visits are by appointment only; there are no weekend walk-in hours.

October brings cooler weather, busy school schedules, fall sports — and more time spent indoors. As kids spend more time together in classrooms, activities and indoor spaces, colds, flu and other respiratory illnesses can spread more easily.
For more than 30 years, The Pediatric Center has been here to help New Jersey families stay healthy through every season.

Now is a great time to make sure your child is up to date on annual physicals and recommended vaccines, including the flu vaccine. And when illness does strike, we’re here with walk-in sick care, same-day sick visits and convenient telehealth appointments when appropriate.

This week’s update includes colds and viral illnesses, strep throat, COVID-19, flu and RSV.

Not every sick visit requires a trip to the office. We also offer telehealth appointments for many non-emergency concerns!
