❓ Did you know that practicing moments of self-care improves emotional stability, reduces anxiety and depression symptoms, and boosts overall well-being by lowering stress and preventing burnout? Regular self-care strengthens resilience against life's pressures and helps manage daily stressors effectively.

🏫 This is especially true in the school environment: we can’t expect students to be regulated if the adults in the room aren’t. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, here are a few ways to practice self-care, even during the school day:

💙 Practice deep breathing: inhale deeply through your nose for four seconds, hold your breath for four seconds, and exhale through your mouth for four seconds. Repeat as needed (or until the bell rings)!
💛 Walk the hallways (or school track) during your planning period or lunch break. Movement can help reduce stress levels and potential inflammation in the body.
💙 Take a moment to laugh with a colleague. Laughter can release endorphins that help reduce stress levels.
💛 Introduce mindfulness or resets as a class activity so you and your students are ready to learn, connect, and collaborate together.

💙 Every student deserves more good days—and we don’t have to build them alone.

💛 May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and this year’s theme from Mental Health America is .

💙 We know that a "good day" for a student might just mean making it through first period or feeling safe enough to participate in a group project. But these days aren't built in isolation. They happen when school districts prioritize mental health care for their students and school community. When schools focus on creating a culture that fosters safe, supportive, and connected learning environments, true success is possible.

💛 By bringing high-quality mental health care directly into the school building, Effective School Solutions is helping to make more good days possible for thousands of students every day.

💙 How is your school or district fostering "more good days" this May? Let’s lead the way in student wellness, together.

💛 Thank you to all teachers for your compassion, patience, and unwavering commitment to helping your students grow and thrive, academically, socially, and emotionally. Your impact reaches far beyond the classroom.
