CNAs assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene. In home health and hospice, their presence provides not only physical support but also emotional reassurance for patients and families. Thank you to our amazing CNAs!

Join us on Thursday, June 25th from 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM for a free informative class on Advanced Care Planning led by Jenny Settoon, LCSW, Administrator of Pointe Coupee Homebound Health and Hospice.

We’ll walk through how to make sure your future healthcare wishes are known in a way that feels right for you. In this class we will discuss the Five Wishes Advance Directive Document, a helpful user-friendly legal document designed to help you and your family prepare for the unexpected by clearly outlining your medical, personal, emotional, and spiritual wishes so your loved ones will clearly understand your preferences.

Attendees will also receive helpful resources including:
• Advanced care planning checklists
• Questions to ask your doctor
• A complimentary copy of the Five Wishes booklet

PCHHH is excited to congratulate our first ever social work intern on earning her Bachelor’s degree from LSU in social work! Kayden Langlois is a 2023 graduate of False River academy who was supervised this academic year as part of her BSW requirements by our social worker, Nina S Seneca, LCSW.

Kayden shared, “My internship experience has helped me grow both professionally and personally by giving me hands-on experience working with clients and learning more about the social work field. It strengthened my communication skills, increased my confidence, and showed me the importance of compassion, patience, and advocacy in helping others.” After graduation, she plans to attend grad school at LSU to pursue her Master's in Social Work!

Kayden spent the past year getting to experience what it means to provide home health and hospice services and we are proud to be part of her continued education. Congratulations Kayden, we are proud of you and can't wait to see what you accomplish in the future!
