Bayou Health and Healing I provide mental health counseling services in New Roads and via Telehealth for ages 6-65, with a variety of mental health and behavioral disorders.

I use a variety of techniques and skills based on the client's needs. Ashley Bayoumi obtained her master's degree in Counselor Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She has been practicing as a LPC for 15+ years. Ashley works with a variety of clientele and mental health issues. She specializes in helping people work through anxiety, grief, and trauma, as well as other mental he

alth disorders. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband of 16 years and two sons. Self-care is important for mental and physical well-being. Ashley's self-care consists of gardening, traveling, music (especially live music), and all things horror and scary.

Healing Hearts Grief Retreat with Lindsey Boxie for pregnancy loss support!

Some grief needs a place to breathe.

We’re honored to welcome Lindsey P. Boxie, LPC, PMH-C, R-PLC as a special guest at our Annual Grief Retreat for Healing Hearts: A Journey of Love, Loss, and Hope.

Lindsey is a licensed professional counselor and perinatal mental health clinician who specializes in pregnancy loss, infant loss, infertility, postpartum adjustment, and the many transitions that grief can bring. Her work is also deeply personal. In 2015, Lindsey experienced the stillbirth of her daughter, Parker, at 37 weeks.
Together, Lindsey will create a safe and compassionate space to honor the babies we carry in our hearts, explore the complicated emotions of grief, and discover practical tools for navigating life after loss.

Because healing doesn’t mean forgetting. It doesn’t mean “moving on.” It means learning how to move again while carrying love and loss together. 🤍

Whether your loss was recent or years ago, you are invited to come exactly as you are. There is no timeline for grief. No expectation to have it all figured out. Just an invitation to pause, connect, reflect, and take one more step toward healing.

You are not alone. Your baby is not forgotten. And there is still room for hope.

What a strange and beautiful thing it is to become the person you once needed.

The person who listens.
The person who stays.
The person who tells the truth gently.
The person who does not shame pain.
The person who makes room for fear without letting it run the whole show.

For a long time, I thought healing meant finding someone who could finally give me what I had missed.

And sometimes, other people do help us get there.

But eventually something deeper happens.

We begin to offer those things to ourselves.

We become the safe place.
The steady voice.
The boundary.
The compassion.
The protection.

Not because the past stops mattering.

Because we finally stop leaving ourselves alone in it.

There is something powerful about realizing:

I became someone Little Me would have felt safe with.

That may be one of the greatest privileges of healing.
