United Hebrew's award-winning campus includes nationally-recognized assisted living, skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation, and memory care for those with Alzheimer's and dementia. United Hebrew of New Rochelle (uhgc.org) is a vibrant not-for-profit, non-sectarian, multi-service campus of comprehensive care nestled on 7.5 acres. United Hebrew has been serving the Westchester metropolitan area since 1919, and today, serves more than 1,000 residents and clients daily on its Harry and Jeannette Weinberg Campus and within the Westchester community. Services include: Long-Term Skilled Nursing (The Kramer and Skalet Pavilion); Burke Rehabilitation at United Hebrew; Willow Towers Assisted Living (The Beverly and Alfred J. Green Pavilion), Memory Care at Willow Gardens; The Phoenix Neighborhood and Griffen Program at Willow Towers; and Nightingale Neighborhood at United Hebrew; Independent Senior Housing at Soundview (Low-Savin Residence) and Meadow Lane Senior Apartments); Health at Home (AZOR Licensed Home Health Care and Certified Home Health Agency); and Private Geriatric Care Management Services (Raven Care Advocates).

About 40 community members joined us at Willow Towers Assisted Living at United Hebrew for “The Next Chapter: Charting Your Course,” part of our Wisdom Speaker Series.

Our panel shared practical estate planning tips, financial questions families should be asking, and insights into preparing for assisted living. The biggest takeaway: begin conversations with loved ones early. Understanding their wishes and exploring options together can help families make thoughtful decisions with greater confidence and peace of mind.

Today, residents and staff at Willow Towers at United Hebrew came together to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We wore pink, learned about the disease’s far-reaching impact, and shared a powerful realization: almost everyone knew someone whose life had been touched by breast cancer.

Then we headed to the courtyard to enjoy the beautiful fall day and move together in solidarity.

Does Medicare pay for assisted living? The short answer is no, but there are other ways to help cover the costs, according to the National Council on Aging (NCOA).

We brought the fiesta to flu prevention with nachos, music, prizes, and an on-site vaccination station to make getting a flu shot a little more fun.
