The pool is 86* and the weather is great this March! I can not remember it being this warm so early in the season for years. Remember to pack sun protection-kits for you and your children. The warm weather is good at deceiving us into thinking it is not summertime and no need for sun protection safety measures. Not so, if you see a shadow you are getting sun regardless if its overcast out.

~Parent Praises
Dear Ms. Amber,
Last week our family took our vacation in Boca Grande, Florida. Mom and Dad took me swimming in the pool and in the ocean. We practiced swim~float~swim like you taught me. We even practiced picking things off the bottom of the pool so I could show you when I return to my lessons when we get home. We had a great time swimming all week mom and dad were so proud of how I could swim, float, swim.
Little did they know that my newly learned skills would save my life in the last hour of our vacation.
My dad and I were taking a few things to our boat in the marina while mom brought the car around to pick us up.
I was riding my bike right beside my dad so he could put it in the boat to bring home. All of a sudden, I decided to dart away from my dad and ride as fast as could to the end of the seawall so I could jump my bike over the wall like a motorcycle.
Over I went into the ocean with my bike, clothes, shoes and blue helmet. My dad and all the other people ran over to get me out. The water was murky and I was nowhere in sight. Just before my dad jumped in I surfaced and immediately did my swim~float~swim to the side of the seawall.

~~Thank God for Ms. Amber If not for the skills that were taught to Tyler just 3 weeks preceding our vacation he may not be with us today.

~Parent Praises
Andrew just started refresher lessons with Ms. Amber and I am quite pleased at how fast he has been brought up to speed with his skills. It is a wonderful accomplishment for him, and I am very proud to say "he swims", when I appear so relaxed walking with Andrew around the pool. We are very watchful, but have great confidence that he would do well in an emergency.
My work in traffic safety has sadly shown me how uninformed parents can be responsible for the death or serious injury of their child. I do my best to pitch survival swimming as another thing parents can give their children to help ensure their safety. Thank you for the gift you have given my son ad family. We live in the hope that he will only have to use these skills for fun, and the knowledge that he will be able to use them in an emergency.
