“Skin is the missing piece in the longevity conversation.”
We recently listened to Dr. Kara Fitzgerald’s conversation with Dr. Carolina Reis Oliveira, and this quote resonated with our practice’s philosophy.
For decades, the conversation around skin aging has focused on collagen loss. But today, researchers are asking deeper questions: Why does collagen decline in the first place? What role do cellular senescence, glycation, chronic inflammation, and the skin’s microenvironment play in how we age?
If you’ve had a skin longevity conversation with us, you’ve probably heard us talk about many of these concepts. It’s exciting to see them becoming part of a broader scientific conversation as researchers continue to explore the biology of aging skin.
As our understanding evolves, so will the way we care for skin. We look forward to sharing more of this science, and the emerging research that’s shaping the future of dermatology.
