Responding to your DMs, here is the condensed version of my first day on a golf course.

I learned more than expected today, thanks to Amanda’s lesson at the end.

I actually love being out of my element and embracing the awkward. I need to spend more time in places I know nothing about, it’s so refreshing!

If you enjoy unqualified commentary, where should I go next?👇

(I’ll still keep the hand-clappers in my bag.
You never know.)

Feel it to heal it, especially if you can’t change it. When ‘forced’ to view life differently, live more intentionally, you may surprise yourself when you eventually feel grateful for the hard that enabled the good to bloom!

Not everyone gets to grow older.
I’m grateful for aging, for very specific reasons.

The first time I posted this was when my heart function increased to 50%.

Today my body turns 50, so I’m celebrating both.

Even though my heart function has declined, we celebrate stable & still kickin’!

With a different perspective, I do not take Life for granted. I’m grateful for aging, I love my life, and the people who share it with me.

So here’s to 50 being the new 30 & not letting life’s setbacks get you down…
KEEP KICKING!

Let’s normalize slowing down, shall we?
Rest doesn’t need to be earned.
It needs to be chosen.

The Joy of Missing Out is not a trend, it’s a survival skill. I can’t share enough that sometimes doing ‘nothing’ is the most productive ‘something’ you can do for your health!
-Especially when you’re navigating chronic illness, poor heart function, wired nervous system or ADHD brain (or all of these like me) and constantly overstimulated…

You’ve seen me post from the couch in my mumus and onesies, which is not just my reality, but my choice. Slowing down has not only become one of my greatest joys, but my superpower.

‘Home, it’s where I want to be…’🎶

Trust me, most of the time my brain wants the party, but my body wants the rest. That’s the relationship I’m choosing to build; listening to my body when it’s talking to me. (unfortunately sometimes it has to shout!)

Choosing peace over the party isn’t ‘missing out,’ it’s an empowering act of defiance.
Your health comes first, and people will understand that, and hopefully support you in it!

Are you feelin’ me?
Do you take rest days?

If you are ready to stop apologizing for creating boundaries & protecting your peace, I’ve put together a little JOMO Care Kit for you!

My favorite Rest Day Essentials PDF guide and chill playlist to support you on your rest days. You’re welcome!

Comment JOMO below and I’ll send it straight to your DMs!

My kind of fancy…
Just a reminder that wherever you are, do more of what brings you joy & feels like you.

When I travel, I hit the vintage clothing & music shops (like, legit vintage, not just thrift stores with recent garb.) Every piece & tangible album has a story behind it, and that makes me happy.

Being in Vegas (teaching at RollerCon) I get that people like the fancy strip with lights, shows & club scene, but it’s just not my jam.

For me, it’s old shops in the mellow Arts District, the ones that smell like worn leather & old rose perfume, which always delivers some absolute gems.

The nostalgia is calming to my soul.

Do you have a go-to type of place you search for when you travel, that just feels good?

It’s 7:30 PM in Las Vegas. Rather than being at the parties (I’m here teaching at RollerCon), I’m in a mumu & glasses, with the hotel pool party hooligans livin’ it up outside my window.

This is me now.
And I’m OK about it.

Listen, I love being the loud one. I love the music & the chaos. But turning 50 next week means having the absolute confidence to choose a mattress over the FOMO. Peace over the party.

Here is the breakdown: My heart is full from the last few weeks, but my nervous system has officially closed for maintenance. Going straight from my Grand Canyon river retreat, up to Alaska, right to Vegas for RollerCon -without a single full day in between -has taken a toll.
Even the things that help our nervous system reset can be overwhelming!

Sometimes the best way to celebrate a milestone is to honor your energy and put your life on
‘Do Not Disturb.’ Amiright?

So tell me peeps: at what age did you officially start prioritizing your peace over the party?
Who’s feelin’ this?

Drop a ‘🛌’ if you relate & Share this with a friend who is also currently choosing peace over the party. Welcome to the club.
