One of the greatest wounds that patriarchy inflicts upon men is that it keeps us separate from each other.

We are suspicious, competitive, and superficial with each other.

Healthy masculinity celebrates a diversity of expressions of masculinity and can learn from them.

My word is my bond. I trust myself and know my capacities and when I take a risk with someone I do so with the awareness that I am capable of managing the risk.

I also trust my ability to see if someone else has the ability to take these risks with me. If i'm not sure, I take time to get to know them to see how they can be in alignment with their word.

The end result is a trustable person that people will take risks with.

Sadness is something that needs to be attended to, not something you solve.

More data will not make you happy.

One of the biggest challenges for men is to express sadness.

How can you actually be with your the sadness?

Practice kindness with yourself when sitting with your sadness feels frustrating and overwhelming.

What defines a man? We live in a world that is evolving and the possibilities for more flexible expression of masculinity are arising.

Does being more emotionally expressive mean you are less of a man?

There's a LOT of nuance here in the way a man expresses himself, but does being affectionate with another man imply the men are not heterosexual?

Does this imply that whether they are or they are not that this behavior would make them less powerful?

Power resides within us.

We give it away.

We can keep our power by owning the truthful needs we have and not apologizing for being honest with ourselves.

That takes A LOT of courage in a world that still is stuck in the 1 dimensional expectation of what a man is.

Men do need structure. We need guidance.

We need each other, but we don't need a prison of superficial rules that condemn us to a life of disconnected loneliness.
