: Metropolitan Hospital was proud to join Ronald McDonald House New York for the Great Days Rockland County Trip, giving our young patients with cancer an opportunity to step away from the hospital and simply enjoy being kids for the day.

From a police es**rt to and from Krucker's Picnic Grove & Catering Official Site, meeting law enforcement officers from across the state, and getting an up-close look at military vehicles and Black Hawk helicopters, the day was filled with unforgettable experiences. The kids also enjoyed time in the pool, a picnic lunch, and special toys from Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

Most importantly, it was a day filled with laughter, fun, and memories—a chance for our young patients and their families to enjoy the outdoors and take a break from the challenges of illness.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this incredible day possible. We are grateful for the opportunity to create moments that remind our patients that they are so much more than their diagnosis.

Our Trinidad & Tobago Food Sale was a delicious success! Staff came together to enjoy authentic Trinidadian flavors while supporting our upcoming Trinidad & Tobago Independence Day celebration at Metropolitan Hospital.

Today, the Metropolitan team joined CEO Julian John to celebrate the accomplishments of our Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) participants with a special graduation ceremony at Metropolitan Hospital!

Our SYEP students reflected on their experience by presenting what they learned throughout the program, sharing the skills, lessons, and memories they gained along the way. Our leaders also shared words of encouragement and advice as they continue their educational and career journeys.

The celebration got even more exciting with an interactive music session led by our Creative Arts Therapist, who worked with the group to create an original song inspired by their SYEP experience!

Congratulations to our SYEP graduates! We are proud of all you accomplished and excited to see where your journey takes you next. The future is yours!

As the culmination of the program, our graduates proudly presented their capstone projects, showcasing the knowledge, creativity, and skills they developed during their journey. Their presentations reflected not only what they learned, but also their passion for healthcare and their commitment to making a difference.

We were excited to welcome a cohort of 20 students from the Boys & Girls Club to Metropolitan Hospital for a day of learning and exploration!

Students had the opportunity to learn about the many career paths in healthcare, hear from our dedicated professionals, and get an inside look at what it takes to care for our community. From clinical roles to careers behind the scenes, we hope this experience sparked curiosity and inspired future healthcare leaders.

Some stories come full circle—and this is one of them.

Jacqueline Montalvo was born at Metropolitan Hospital. Years later, she welcomed her daughter, Amberly Wegele, here. Now, Amberly has given birth to Baby Boy Wegele, making him the third generation of their family to begin life at Metropolitan.

As a former Metropolitan employee, Jacqueline knows firsthand the compassionate care provides. Seeing three generations of one family choose Metropolitan for such meaningful milestones is a testament to the trust we've built within our community.

We're honored to be part of your family's story. Congratulations to the Montalvo and Wegele families, and welcome to the newest member of the Metropolitan family!
