If your child is under 3 and already approved for Early Intervention — or you’re just beginning the EI process — we’re here to help.

Feeding therapy is about so much more than taking a bite.

The goal was to help this little one feel comfortable interacting with new foods in many different ways BEFORE a meal.

When we take the pressure off eating and create opportunities for curiosity and connection, children can build confidence around new foods at their own pace.

✨ Big news! Our 2026 Social Groups are here!

We’re excited to launch small, engaging social groups led by clinicians trained in PEERS® and Social Thinking® bringing together evidence-based strategies with fun, meaningful peer interaction.

These groups are designed to help children build the social skills they need to connect with confidence, including:
💙 Perspective taking
💙 Reciprocal conversations
💙 Topic maintenance
💙 Flexible thinking & problem-solving
💙 Social-emotional development

Through play, guided practice, and natural peer interactions, children have the opportunity to strengthen friendships while learning skills they can use every day.

At Speech in the City, we love incorporating dyad sessions where we are working with two children together to create meaningful opportunities for peer to peer interaction. 🤝

While individual therapy is important, some of the most powerful communication moments happen between children. Through shared play, turn taking, problem solving, commenting, and social exchanges, children learn to communicate with a real peer partner in a natural and motivating way.

These sessions allow us to target speech, language, social communication, and play skills while fostering connection, flexibility, and confidence. Watching children learn from and with one another is one of our favorite parts of therapy. 🤝

We’re excited to officially launch our 2026 Social Groups—small, supportive groups led by PEERS® and Social Thinking® trained professionals, designed to help children build meaningful connections and real-world social confidence.

Through play-based, evidence-based activities, we’ll be targeting:

Literacy + play = some of our favorite sessions 🦖📚

Today we brought the book What Kind of Car Does a T. Rex Drive? into therapy and turned it into an interactive shopping adventure! Using a shopping cart, play money, dinosaurs, and “special cars,” our little learners worked on language, pretend play, turn-taking, problem solving, vocabulary, and early literacy skills, all while having so much fun.

When books come off the page and into play, learning sticks. 💚
