Wrapping up our stations series with the pelvic outlet — the positive station numbers, where baby is descending toward the exit. The cue flips here: think knees in, ankles out, to widen your sit bones, plus flexed hips to open the front of your pelvis away from your tailbone. Try side-lying with a peanut ball between your ankles, hands and knees with toes out and knees in, or the same rotation seated. That's a wrap on the full journey through the pelvis! 🤰

Part 2 of our stations series — the midpelvis, the tightest spot baby has to navigate. Here it's all about movement and asymmetry, opening the top of your pelvis on one side while opening the bottom on the other, so baby can shimmy through instead of just dropping straight down. Try swaying or circling your hips on a birth ball, or get asymmetrical with a squat (one leg elevated) or any lunge with one leg forward and one back. Next up: the outlet, the final stretch. 🤰

Kicking off our stations series with the pelvic inlet — the top of your pelvis, where baby sits at the negative station numbers before engaging. The move here is simple: open your hips wide and let your knees fall out to make more room. Try sitting wide on a ball, leaning forward onto a sturdy surface from that same position, or dropping into child's pose on the ground. Stay tuned for the next stop on the journey down. 🤰

Ever hear your OB or midwife say "baby's at station +1" 🤔 and just nod along? This is Part 1 of a new series where we break down exactly what pelvic station means 📍, and why it matters way more than you think. Follow along as we go station by station 👣 and cover the specific positions and movements that can help baby descend at each stage 🤰.

4 easy movements to help prepare your body for birth 🤰✨

As you move through your third trimester, gentle daily movement can help create space, ease tension, and support your body as it prepares for labor. Here are 4 simple moves we love:

🫁 Diaphragmatic breathing — connects you to your pelvic floor and calms your nervous system
🔄 Pelvic tilts — gently mobilizes your low back and pelvis
🐈 Cat/Cow — relieves tension through your spine and hips
🧘‍♀️ Child's pose — a resting stretch to release and reset

Well, let’s talk about it. 🗣️

Burnout is a hot topic in the physical therapy industry, and it’s quickly becoming one of the main reasons PTs are leaving traditional care. The leading causes of burnout include excessive workload, feeling underpaid and undervalued, and the lack of autonomy.

At Kins, we’ve shifted the focus back to quality care. Our PTs treat patients 1-on-1 for 1 hour, choose their own hours, and decide how many patients they want to work with. This flexibility allows for a better work-life balance.

We are on a mission to reduce burnout in the physical therapy industry because we know how valuable physical therapists are. 💪🏻
