My mom is one of the biggest fans there is. (I also loved the show when I finally got a chance to watch it while we were all shuttered in these past 2 years.)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Last night I was chatting with my mom about her plans for the weekend and she told me that she wanted to go see the new Downton Abbey movie but was a little scared to go to the theater because she knows cases are rising across the country for c0v-d. I definitely can understand the concern with that and told her as long as she makes sure that the theater isn't crowded and she wears her N95, she'll probably be ok.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Then she shared with me that she was feeling a little apprehensive because of the gun violence. And that part crushed me. She's not someone who's easily rattled, so this just solidified how messed up things are right now.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We should be able to go see a movie without being scared that we may be a victim of the next mass shooting. I'm also frustrated that we're still dealing with the pandemic.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know that many of us out there are feeling like this as well.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you're feeling frustrated about all that we're experiencing now, you're not alone. Many of us are working out our feelings and it's ok to do that. Whether we like it or not, we're all in this together. And we will all make it out of these dark times TOGETHER.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I hope you all have a safe, restful holiday weekend.
