All five boroughs of NYC were once known as Lenapehoking, the ancestral home of the Lenape people. Today, and everyday, we acknowledge them and their stewardship of this land.

Indigenous communities often face unique stressors and barriers to care that can increase the risk of both mental health challenges and gambling-related harm.

Reducing stigma, increasing awareness, and expanding access to culturally responsive support services can help individuals seek help earlier and support recovery from gambling-related harm.

For 24/7 support, call the NYS OASAS HOPEline at 1-877-846-7369 or text 467369. Or choose your county using our interactive map on NYProblemGamblingHELP.org to see the contact information for the Problem Gambling Resource Center (PGRC) in your region.

Every community deserves access to support, understanding, and hope. By raising awareness about gambling harms in AAPI communities and promoting culturally responsive resources, we can help reduce stigma and connect more individuals and families with the support they deserve.
