Fi****ms are the leading cause of death for children ages 1-19 years old in the United States. CHAM CAREs recently gathered for Wear Orange, national event held yearly to bring awareness to gun violence prevention, recognize victims, and advocate for greater safety.

CHAM CAREs is a group of Montefiore Einstein providers, researchers, educators, and administrators dedicated to promoting gun safety and ending gun violence through Clinical care, Advocacy, Research, and Education.

New Faculty Alert! Aakash Mahant Mahant, PhD recently joined the Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM) and the Department of Microbiology-Immunology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Mahant earned his PhD at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, we are glad he chose to stay! His thesis work focused on defining mechanisms of maternal-fetal transfer of antibodies against HSV, CMV, HIV, and SARS-COV-2. He will continue related work including through several new mouse models he developed.
