Labor Less: A Sonic Special Yin Practice

Before the long weekend begins, we’re choosing to labor less.

This special Yin practice is an invitation to step away from the constant doing, striving, producing, and pushing that fills so much of our lives. Through long, supported holds, intentional breath, and deep stillness, we’ll create space for the body and nervous system to soften, release, and restore.

This gathering invites the possibility of a few truths:
Our bodies are designed and rigged in our favor.
Everything we want wants us in return.
We are our first resource and reference point.

Anatomically, this ritual affirms the framing of the body via the Anatomy Trains (TM); specifically the the lines of muscle and fascia along the back of the body, and along the outer seams to the left and right. Sequencing will bring specific attention to the strength and support of these anatomy trains, to open connections to the subtle anatomy we can summon based on our needs: the shadow, history, boundaries and our connections to the more than human world.

Via this ‘Anatomy of Trust’, we’ll explore Somatics, and Yoga postures and holds that strengthen the back and hips. We’ll explore postures in various orientations even as we move through restorative holds before resting in savasana.

This ritual is the first of the Sacred Anatomies Series, and exploration of a broadening teaching and practice methodology.
