S4E3: A Secret Weapon of Aesthetics | Restorative Micropigmentation (ft. Delphine Breyne)

I’ve watched cosmetic tattooing evolve throughout my career, and its role in aesthetics goes far beyond eyebrows.

In this episode of The Pro-Aging Podcast, I’m joined by Delphine Breyne, a French-born beauty restoration expert and founder of Delphine Eyebrow Couture in NYC, to discuss the art and science of restorative micropigmentation.

From eyebrow restoration and scalp micropigmentation to scar camouflage, we explore how her work complements what we do in cosmetic dermatology. We get into how pigments and techniques have evolved, safety, who makes a good candidate, how long results last, and what can be done to correct previous work.

I also share why my patients love her natural, personalized approach and how restoring even the smallest details can help people feel more like themselves.

Melasma and pigmentation can be tricky to treat because not all pigment behaves the same way or sits at the same depth.

Dr. Frank takes a combination approach with Gerardo Russo , using different laser technologies to address multiple layers and types of pigmentation while also improving overall skin tone, texture, and quality.

Rather than relying on one device to do everything, the treatment is customized based on what the skin actually needs.

About a week of controlled healing, mostly pink like a sunburn, gives us the opportunity to address pigment while improving overall skin quality in the same treatment.

Multiple lasers. Multiple targets. One customized approach.

Introducing the New VBeam Pro: Advanced Vascular Laser Technology at PFRANKMD

Laser season is here, and we’re excited to introduce the new VBeam Pro at PFRANKMD.

This next-generation vascular laser technology allows us to target redness and vascular concerns, including rosacea, broken capillaries, port-wine stains, and certain scars, with greater precision.

Staying at the forefront of innovative technology is a core part of how we approach both aesthetic and medical dermatology at PFRANKMD.

There’s more to come. We have some exciting new technologies continuing to launch at PFRANKMD this fall.

Micro Liposuction 101: Tumescent Technique + The Evolution of Body Contouring

Micro liposuction is not a weight-loss procedure.

It’s a precision body-contouring tool designed to target localized areas of fat that remain resistant to diet and exercise, something we’re seeing even more frequently in the era of GLP-1 medications.

Using a tumescent technique under local anesthesia, MicroLipo allows us to remove targeted fat with a minimally invasive approach and relatively quick recovery.

And the procedure continues to evolve.

At PFRANKMD, we are always advancing our techniques and technology to give patients the best possible results. Today, MicroLipo can be combined with technologies like BodyTite Turbo and FaceTite Turbo to address not only unwanted fat, but skin tightening and contour definition at the same time.

The technology may advance, but the goal stays the same: precise, customized body contouring with the least invasive approach appropriate for the patient.

A surgical scar may be permanent, but its appearance can continue to improve.

Using MIRIA, we can precisely treat surgical scars to help improve texture, color, and overall appearance while stimulating collagen remodeling within the skin.

Surgical scar treatment is never one-size-fits-all. The approach depends on the type of scar, its age, location, and how the skin has healed.

The goal: make the scar less noticeable and help it blend more naturally with the surrounding skin.

Treating Chest Lines and Décolletage: A Step-by-Step Approach

Chest lines and wrinkles in the décolletage are a common concern, but treating the lines alone often isn’t enough. The first step is addressing the underlying sun damage and overall skin quality.

We typically start with laser resurfacing, often using Fraxel technology, to target both the surface of the skin and the deeper dermis. This helps improve sun damage, texture, pigmentation, and collagen production.

Once the skin has been resurfaced, biostimulatory injectables or hyaluronic acid smoothers can be used to soften deeper grooves and restore smoother-looking skin.

The goal is a layered approach that improves the quality of the skin while also addressing the individual lines for both immediate improvement and longer-term results.

Laser season is here. In Forbes, Dr. Frank breaks down how to think about laser and energy-based treatments as part of a long-term skin strategy, not just a one-time fix. Different technologies can target pigment, texture, wrinkles, scarring and laxity in different ways.

The future of non-invasive cosmetic dermatology is combination treatment. Instead of asking one device to do everything, Dr. Frank’s approach is to layer smaller, targeted treatments that address different levels of the skin and structure.

One example: pairing Fraxel with Ultherapy. Fraxel works on skin quality, tone, texture and visible damage, while Ultherapy is used to address deeper structural support. Different jobs, one overall treatment plan.

The right combination is different for every patient. Skin type, age, laxity, pigment, downtime and long-term goals all matter when deciding what to combine, how often to treat and what order makes the most sense.

At PFRANKMD, treatment planning is built around the full picture, not one device. From laser resurfacing and skin tightening to injectables and regenerative treatments, each plan is customized around your skin, structure, goals and lifestyle.

This is what a true skin reset looks like.

Fraxel Repair CO2 is one of our most powerful resurfacing treatments for improving texture, fine lines, pigmentation and overall skin quality while stimulating new collagen.

The downtime is part of the process. The goal is healthier, smoother, better-quality skin on the other side.

Sun-damaged skin is messy. Clean up your room before it gets too dirty.

This patient is in her mid-30s, with years of accumulated sun exposure already showing across the chest as uneven pigmentation and visible sun damage.

Fraxel laser resurfacing helps target early photodamage and improve overall skin tone and quality. The goal is not to wait until the damage becomes more advanced. Over time, cumulative sun exposure contributes to collagen breakdown, weaker skin, fine lines, wrinkles and laxity.

Pro-aging is about addressing these changes early, maintaining healthy skin, and preventing today’s damage from becoming tomorrow’s bigger problem.
