Today, on Women’s Day, I want to take a moment to celebrate — the “First Lady” of RHIO Wellness Pty Ltd South Africa.

From the very beginning, Andzani has been a steady hand, a trusted partner, and a true embodiment of grace under pressure. Her dedication, resilience, and passion for our mission inspire not only me, but everyone she works with.

To Andzani and to all the incredible women who lead Africa with courage, compassion, and vision…thank you for the light you bring to the world. Today and every day, we honor you.

Imagine a world where we told children their emotional wellbeing was a luxury they couldn’t afford. Where we said healing from trauma was “selfish” and seeking support was “weakness.”
During our visit to Nomsa Mapongwana Primary School, we watched young minds light up with curiosity and hope. These children deserve more than just academic instruction…they deserve to feel safe, heard, and emotionally supported as they grow.
Yet too often, we hear the dangerous rhetoric that mental health is a “nice-to-have” rather than fundamental to human flourishing. We’re told it’s indulgent. That people should just “push through.” That communities facing economic hardship can’t prioritize psychological .
This thinking is not just wrong—IT’S DESTRUCTIVE!
isn’t separate from physical health, educational success, or economic prosperity. It’s the foundation that makes everything else possible. When we abandon it as a priority, we abandon our collective future.
The children in this video with our CEO, remind us why we must reject the false choice between meeting basic needs and nurturing mental wellness. They deserve both. We all do.

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Nathaniel Uko-Ima to the RHIO Wellness team as an intern for the academic year from Touro University Worldwide! 🎉

Dr. Uko-Ima brings a wealth of experience in mental health, social policy, and public advocacy. With a Ph.D. in Psychology, Public Policy & Law from Alliant International University, he has dedicated his career to supporting vulnerable communities, veterans, and families navigating complex social and emotional challenges. His prior work experience has prepared him to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.

At RHIO Wellness, Dr. Uko-Ima will be seeing patients and contributing to our social impact initiatives in Africa, focusing on mental health advocacy and access. His passion for policy-driven change and community-based interventions aligns perfectly with our mission to provide holistic, culturally competent mental health care.
