History was made this week as menopause received its first-ever congressional hearing—a long-overdue moment for women’s health. So proud of our founder SUZANNE FENSKE, MD, FACOG, ABOIM, MSCP , she rocked it!

We are deeply grateful to the administration for doing more than talking about change—they are taking meaningful action. Thank you to U.S. Health & Human Services, Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., U.S. FDA, Senator , and Senator sengillibrand for helping move this critical conversation forward.

There are so many promising developments in the pipeline for women’s health, and this is only the beginning. We are also grateful to every advocate, clinician, organization, and individual using their platform to educate, raise awareness, and ensure women’s voices are heard.

The momentum is real. Let’s keep moving forward—together.

What do omega-3-rich foods and carotenoid-rich foods have in common? They are good for your eyes. Vision and eye health can decline with age, and women are more at risk for dry eyes and glaucoma after menopause because of how the eyes respond to lower estrogen levels. But there is so much you can do to protect your eyes as you age, starting with nutrition.

It’s apple season! And if you love apple-everything, you’ll love this easy, nourishing applesauce recipe. Add it to yogurt or cottage cheese for breakfast, use it as a topping for protein pancakes, or eat a bowl for dessert.

Ingredients:
6-8 large apples, core removed and cut into cubes (keep the skin on for added nutrition)
¼ cup of water (or enough to cover the bottom of the pot)
1-2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon or a couple cinnamon sticks
Pinch of sea salt

A day at the beach is good for the body, mind, and soul! As you engage your senses, you tap into the present. Hear the waves, feel the sand between your toes, breathe in and smell the humid, mineral-rich air, and see the beautiful scenery. You’ll boost vitamin D, neurotransmitters, and detoxification. Time spent in nature helps lower stress hormones, blood pressure, and anxiety. It can help you sleep better at night and feel refreshed the next day.

Your next beach day or vacation could be just what the doctor ordered. Don’t forget the sunscreen!

Half the country will experience menopause. Yet millions of women still struggle to access informed, evidence-based menopause care.

On September 16, Dr. Suzanne Fenske, Founder of TārāMD and Women’s Health Ambassador for the HHS Office on Women’s Health, will testify before the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging at a hearing dedicated to this critical issue:

“Half the Country, Zero Hearings: Meeting the Moment to End the Menopause Care Gap in America”

📅 September 16, 2026
⏰ 3:30 PM ET
📍Washington, D.C.

As a double board-certified gynecologist, integrative physician, and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, Dr. Fenske has dedicated her work to advancing how women are cared for through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond.

Her testimony will help bring national attention to the gaps that remain in menopause education, research, awareness, and access to knowledgeable care.

This conversation is bigger than any one physician or practice. It’s about the millions of women who deserve to understand what is happening to their bodies, have their symptoms taken seriously, and have access to clinicians who are equipped to help them.

Menopause affects half the population. It deserves a place in the national healthcare conversation.

Watch the hearing live and learn more through the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging.

These taste like a brownie… but they’re built to support your metabolism.

Flourless black bean brownie muffins that are rich, fudgy, and made with ingredients that actually work for your body—not against it. This is what balanced indulgence looks like. Check out the full recipe below:

Recipe

Makes 12 muffins

Ingredients:
• 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed well
• 3 large eggs
• 2 tbsp brewed coffee
• 1/3 cup maple syrup
• 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips- we prefer Lilys zero sugar chocolate chips

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line or grease a muffin tin.
2. Add black beans, eggs, coffee, maple syrup, coconut oil, and vanilla to a blender or food processor. Blend until completely smooth.
3. Add cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Blend again until fully combined.
4. Stir in chocolate chips.
5. Divide evenly into 12 muffin cups.
6. Bake for 18–22 minutes, until set.
7. Let cool before removing—texture firms up as they cool.

Nutrition (per muffin)
• Calories: ~125
• Protein: ~4–5 g
Fat: ~6 g
• Carbohydrates: ~16–18 g
• Fiber: ~3–4 g
• Sugar: ~7–9 g

Why this is a smarter dessert:
• Higher protein from eggs → improved satiety + blood sugar stability
• Fiber-rich base → supports gut health and digestion
• Cocoa + coffee → rich in polyphenols for metabolic support

Save this for when you want something chocolatey that satisfies—but still supports your energy, hormones, and overall health.

It’s that back-to-school time of year again! While new routines can be so helpful, it’s also a busy and chaotic transition in many ways. Often, it’s the mom’s needs that get put on the back burner.

Here are some simple things you can do to keep your health habits in place:
· Pack your lunch when packing the kids’ lunch
· Batch cook on the weekends, so you have breakfast options and quick dinners ready to go
· Plan your workouts; put them on the calendar
· Download a meditation app and commit to just 5 minutes per day after dropping the kids off or waiting in line for pickup
· Stick to a consistent bedtime
· Schedule your next follow-up with TārāMD

It’s amazing how a little planning and routine is good for kids and for mom too!
