Here’s what’s actually going on 👇
When your shoulder elevates while you’re lifting, it means your scapulothoracic muscles aren’t doing their job. Your shoulder is compensating by hiking up because it doesn’t have the stability it needs.
Left untreated, this puts you at serious risk for shoulder impingement, bursitis, and long term joint damage — all from a movement pattern most people don’t even notice they’re doing.
Here’s how to fix it:
Start with scapular stabilization exercises to teach your shoulder blade to sit where it belongs. Then build strength in your rhomboids and rear shoulder muscles, these are the muscles responsible for keeping everything in place. Pair that with a consistent flexibility program to release the tightness that’s pulling your shoulder out of position in the first place.
Most people treat the pain. We treat the cause.
