Did you know that about 3.6 million cases of basal cell carcinoma (BCC) are diagnosed in the U.S. every year?

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common type of skin cancer. It typically develops on areas of the skin that receive frequent sun exposure, including the face, ears, neck, and scalp.

While BCC usually grows slowly and rarely spreads to other parts of the body, it can cause significant local damage if left untreated.

In this carousel, we’re breaking down what basal cell carcinoma is, what it can look like, and what signs to look out for.

If you notice a new or changing spot, a sore that doesn’t heal, or a skin lesion that keeps coming back, it’s worth having it evaluated by a dermatologist.

Regular skin checks with a dermatologist can help identify suspicious or changing spots early. Don’t wait to have a spot checked if something looks or feels different.

The best results are often the most subtle.

This before-and-after shows forehead lines softened with a neuromodulator while preserving natural expression and movement.

Dr. Nabatian’s approach is simple: less is more. The goal is never to make you look frozen, but refreshed, balanced, and still like yourself.

How deep should microneedling actually go? 👀

It depends on the area being treated, your skin, and your specific goals.

When it comes to microneedling, deeper does not automatically mean better results.

Different areas of the face require different approaches:

• Upper cheeks: The skin below the under-eye area is more delicate and generally calls for a more conservative approach.

• Forehead: Thinner skin requires careful depth selection to avoid unnecessary trauma.

• Cheeks & jawline: These areas may tolerate deeper treatment, particularly when addressing concerns such as acne scarring or more pronounced textural changes.

• Texture & fine lines: Depth can be adjusted based on the area and the specific concern being treated.

Using the same depth across the entire face may mean being too aggressive in more delicate areas while not adequately addressing thicker areas or deeper concerns.

The device is only one part of the treatment. Understanding skin anatomy and knowing how to customize the treatment is what matters.

Dr. Adam Nabatian carefully evaluates your skin and treatment goals to determine the appropriate depth and technique for each area — with a focus on both results and safety.

✨ It’s not just about how deep you go. It’s about knowing where, why, and how to treat.

You applied sunscreen this morning—but are you still protected? ☀️

One of the most common sunscreen mistakes is applying SPF once and forgetting about it.

If you’re swimming, sweating, or spending extended time outdoors, you should reapply your sunscreen. Even water-resistant sunscreen should be reapplied after swimming or excessive sweating.

Regular sunscreen reapplication helps maintain protection from UV rays and sun damage.

Save this as your reminder to reapply. 🧴
