Got a mosaic embryo result? 🧬 You’re not alone, and you deserve real answers. Gaia stopped by Extend Fertility to sit down with Dr. Morris, one of our Reproductive Endocrinologists, to break down exactly what a mosaic embryo result means for your fertility journey.

Here’s a simple breakdown of what mosaic embryos are:

After your eggs are fertilized, the embryo starts dividing rapidly. Sometimes during that process, a small number of cells develop a chromosomal difference, while the rest are completely normal. That’s what makes an embryo “mosaic.” It’s not fully normal, but it’s not fully abnormal either.

If you’ve gone through IVF and received a mosaic result on your embryo report, first, take a breath. This is more common than you might think! Mosaic embryos have led to healthy, successful pregnancies.

At Extend Fertility, we’re here to make sure you feel informed and supported, every step of the way. 💙

Going through an egg freezing cycle and wondering if which pain relief medications are okay to take? 💉🥚This is a question our nurses here at Extend Fertility get asked a ton!

We recommend avoiding NSAIDs like ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin) and naproxen (Aleve) during parts of the egg freezing process, especially around your trigger shot and egg retrieval.

Why? These medications can potentially affect ovulation-related hormones, hydration and kidney function during stimulation.

For headaches, cramping, or discomfort throughout your cycle, we recommend:
✨ Tylenol (acetaminophen)
✨ heating pads
✨ hydration + electrolytes
✨ rest

When in doubt, always message your care team before taking anything new during your egg freezing or IVF cycle!

A question we receive quite often is if we recommend acupuncture to help someone going through fertility treatments. 🪡

Acupuncture can be a helpful complementary therapy for some patients during fertility treatment! While the research is mixed regarding direct impact on outcomes, many patients find it beneficial for stress reduction, relaxation, sleep, and overall emotional well-being throughout the process 😊

Why can’t patients wear perfume during procedures at Extend Fertility? 🌸💬🧬

If you’re going through fertility treatments for an egg freezing cycle or IVF, you might be surprised to hear that perfume and all scented products are a no-go on procedure day.

Fragranced products often contain VOCs (volatile organic compounds). These chemicals can act as endocrine disruptors, interfering with hormonal balance.

That’s why we follow a strict fragrance-free policy and have HEPA filters all throughout our lab here at Extend Fertility!
