This! Happy Black History Month ✊🏾✊🏿✨
“There are many chronic health conditions that disproportionately affect people of color and particularly members of the Black community…Yoga offers the Black community biological, psychological and sociological support and pathways for healing, better health and wellbeing. As we celebrate Black History Month, I am proud of my heritage and am encouraged by the increasing numbers of Black people whose lives are now healthier due to the practice of yoga!”
Through the month of February, Yoga Alliance will be honoring the personal histories of various individuals whose lives have been transformed by yoga and who, in turn, are paying it forward. Maya Breuer (E-RYT 500, YACEP) is the VP of Cross-Cultural Advancement foYoga Alliancece and a co-founder of thBlack Yoga Teachers Alliancece. Her mission and dharma have been to teach yoga, promote inclusivity and empower individuals to renew body, mind and spirit to achieve health and wellbeing.
