The REACH Institute

The REACH Institute REACH seeks to transform children’s health services by helping care providers use proven methods Expanding the “reach” of today’s knowledge is what we do.

According to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Science, it takes 18 years on average for medical innovations to reach patients. Shortening the wait for science to reach its intended beneficiaries greatly benefits families, communities and society as a whole. REACH and its scientific partners believe that this time lag can be reduced to less than 3 years, giving more than 3 milli

on young people a real chance for happier, healthier and more productive lives. The discovery of even more effective treatments is what we hope for. Please join us in making certain that children and adolescents are not left waiting too long. REACH uses a four-step process to accelerate the time that it takes for state-of-art science to reach local communities:

* Identify and validate the highest-quality scientific findings
* Adapt these new interventions to make them family- and child-friendly
* Quickly disseminate and implement these proven interventions, and
* Empower local communities to sustain this change process through ongoing access to REACH’s latest programs, training materials and technical assistance

This Pride Month, we're recognizing the importance of affirming, accessible mental health care for LGBTQIA+ youth.

These statistics from The Trevor Project reflect a reality that too many young people continue to face: significant mental health needs and barriers to accessing care.

At The REACH Institute, we believe every child and adolescent deserves timely, effective mental health support. Throughout June, we'll be sharing resources, insights, and conversations focused on supporting the mental health and well-being of LGBTQIA+ youth and the clinicians, families, and communities who care for them.
