We're celebrating World Listening Day by highlighting two WELL projects that use sound creatively during peoples' workdays, attuning them to nature's outdoor symphony:

🌿 Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens installed a nature soundscape among trees and plants to warm up a cold gray concrete atrium. With help from a sound artist and composer who recorded nature sounds in Pittsburgh, Pa., across every season and weather condition, recordings are piped into the atrium based on the current season. This allows employees and visitors passing through the space to enjoy both the lush plants and the sounds of outdoor weather and creatures.

🦉 GSK, a pharmaceutical company, deployed nature-based soundscapes throughout its London headquarters, including bird song and running water. On the working floors, the sound of a babbling brook can mask distracting noises. Every half hour the sound of birds flying overhead fills the space. At 6:00 PM, owls hoot, signaling that it's time to go home and rest.

After weeks of excitement for soccer and futbol fans around the world, we wanted to celebrate the WELL journey behind one of the stadiums that hosted the tournament.

The WELL Health-Safety Rated Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif., hosted eight matches, including USA's opening match and last week's quarter-final between Spain and Belgium.

While passionate fans followed every goal, penalty kick and referee call, they were also experiencing the benefits of a WELL Health Safety Rated space. From optimized air and water quality, to safety protocols and emergency preparedness, they were surrounded by strategies that helped to ensure a healthier and safer fan experience.
