Occupational Therapy graduate students conducted play facilitation groups for young children under Dr. Guzman's supervision. The playgroups were broken down by age categories to ensure developmentally appropriate experiences that include a range of fine motor and sensory activities, play stations, social play, free play, themed play and/or art activities.

The benefits of the playgroups are multifold. OT students learn to conduct play groups while providing play strategies to families. For the children, playgroups provide an opportunity to practice social and play skills in real life contexts and with peers. Playgroups would enable children to interact with peers and learn about social expectations and to practice motor skills in a supportive play zone.
