We talk about embolization for adenomyosis, explaining that it’s a vascular procedure where beads are injected to block blood supply to affected areas, cutting off circulation to fibroids or adenomyosis. PLEASE NOTE that we can manage only our own surgical patients with MCAS, so we will not take on patients with MCAS who have been operated elsewhere. I talk about how experiencing allergic or skin reactions, or breathing problems near strong fragrances, like in an airport, could indicate MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome). I explain that MCAS involves malfunctioning mast cells, not an excess of them, and that diagnosis is often clinical due to the difficulty of catching elevated tryptase levels. I also mention that if you have endometriosis and suspect MCAS, our clinic specializes in comprehensive care, including surgery.
