**A seat at the table means little if not everyone has a voice.**
October 9, 2026. United Nations Headquarters, New York City. 🇺🇳
I had the privilege of participating in the UN General Assembly Third Committee Youth Forum, under the theme *“The Future of Multilateralism: Building Solutions for an Inclusive Future.”*
A day of listening, learning, exchanging perspectives, and reflecting on what it truly means to build a more inclusive world.
During the afternoon Youth Mobilization Segment, I had the opportunity to contribute to the conversation by raising an issue particularly close to my professional work in developmental psychology, education, and autism services: **the meaningful participation of young people with developmental disabilities in the decisions that shape their futures.**
We speak so often about inclusion. But inclusion is not simply an invitation into a room. It requires accessible systems, meaningful representation, and the opportunity to influence how resources are distributed and policies are developed.
And perhaps that was my greatest reflection from the day: **Who is still missing from these conversations, and what are we doing to change that?**
I left feeling grateful for the experience, inspired by the people I encountered, and reminded of the responsibility we share to turn meaningful dialogue into meaningful action.
Because the true measure of progress isn't what we accomplish inside these rooms, but what changes for those outside them.
A day I will remember. 🤍
