Two surgeries. One year apart. A tibial plateau fracture followed by a meniscus and ACL reconstruction. πΏ
Jean-Bernard is a professional chef and weekend athlete β someone whose life runs on being physically capable, both at work and on the mountain. After surgery, the basics became the challenge. Getting dressed. Getting to the bathroom. Getting through the day without help. Everything that used to be automatic suddenly wasn't.That's the part people don't always talk about with major orthopedic injuries. It's not just the sport you lose. It's your whole sense of normalcy.
Jean-Bernard came to MVMT through a referral from his orthopedic surgeon β and his wife had already been through her own recovery with us, so he knew what to expect. What stood out to him was the progression. One-on-one sessions.
Clear programming. Visible improvement from one session to the next. A plan that actually made sense.
And then came that first day back on his skis. Bending his knee in a deep carve. Putting full power through his legs. Moving on the mountain the way he used to β without fear, without hesitation, and with complete confidence that his body would hold up.
That's what we're working toward with every single patient. Not just recovery. A return. Full, fearless, all-the-way-back return. π€
If you're taking PT seriously, do it all the way. The exercises matter. The consistency matters. And the right team makes all the difference.
