Learning how to reposition the shoulder using the 3 month old position. Joint centration allows the muscles to function properly and decreases stress on the shoulder. Many times we can’t actually “feel” proper centration without outside help due to compensation patterns (ie desk jockeys, past injuries etc).

Do you know the difference between mobility and flexibility?

Great slide from seminar this weekend defining each.

Another way to think about these:

✅mobility = active control of range of motion, think movie not picture (thanks )

✅flexibility = passive range of motion, think a buddy stretching out your hamstrings while laying on your back

Sometimes you can be flexible, but lack the strength to control through the range of motion.

Flexibility is one part of mobility. Strength, propioception, and coordination also contribute. Need to work on all these actively to achieve better mobility.
