Complex revision rhinoplasty: reversing the “Barbie nose.” This case involves full release of scar tissue and then placement of extended spreader grafts to derotate the nasal tip. The key to rebuilding extremely complex multiple revisions is reestablishing control of the scar tissue through stabilization of the entire tip complex. This means reconstructing the tip support and the support of the lateral crus. I will often focus on both cartilage support and soft tissue reconstruction. ... .

Rhinoplasty: 8 years post-op. My beautiful patient jill sandwich was gorgeous before surgery and wanted some refinement of her nose.  She underwent tip refinement, dorsal hump reduction, tip deprojection, and tip elevation.  The goal is a natural looking result which complements the rest of her face and does not droop when she smiles. She is now 8 years post-op! (Of note, her in-office pictures with blue background are 2 years post-op 👍)

We are extremely grateful that our project,
“Asymmetric Tip Deprojection in Crooked Nose
Rhinoplasty,” has been awarded a research grant from The Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation.

Revision rhinoplasty: Beware of synthetic implants in rhinoplasty including silicone, Gortex, medpor, and metal screws or wires 🚫⛔️. These types implants have a very high rate of infection, extrusion, malposition, and palpable movement after rhinoplasty. I will always remove these and replace them with the patient’s own septal cartilage or MTF cartilage if septum is not present and other types of stabilizing maneuvers to give better and safe longterm results.
