Rest in peace to our beloved friend Chris Curry. Such a great person who has now gained his wings.
Me and my Full Force brothers had known Chris when we were very young tykes in the Brooklyn neighborhood growing up when he was the MC at Club Ecstasy on Nostrand Avenue and Eastern Parkway, introducing us in our very first show there.
Before that me and my brothers saw Chris & his acapela singing group, when they won first prize at the amateur show at the Apollo Theater when they sang Old Man River with Chris rockin his high lead, tenor falsetto.
Chris had such a great sense of humor and lot of energy to go along with his talents as a vocalist and host MC. He used to play basketball a lot in the gym as well. For a man his age, his wife told me he had more energy than she did.
Full Force & The Force Mds used to still work with Chris in the studio as well with Chris as the maestro and producer instructing us of everything he wanted in the vocal booth.
Chris was one of a kind, and he will always live in our hearts. Folks that knew him know exactly what I am talking about. Full of life and love with lessons to be learned by him as a historian of the culture itself. Thanks Chris for all that you gave.
Condolences to his beloved wife Carol, his beloved daughter and the rest of his family.
