Friendly nutrition reminder: your body needs carbohydrates for energy, brain function, and honestly… basic survival.

The goal isn’t cutting out entire food groups, it’s finding portions and combinations that actually work for you.

Yes, bread can stay. 🍞

I always love talking about the many schools of thought around weight loss, but I especially love conversations with fellow dietitians who keep it real. In episode 79, I’m joined by the fantastic Caroline Susie to break down weight loss plateaus: what they actually are, why they happen, whether set-point theory holds weight (pun intended 😉), and practical ways to navigate the frustration without falling for gimmicks.

Healthy eating includes enjoying dinner out with friends, too. 🍽️ It’s not about only cooking at home or following rigid food rules—it’s about flexibility, balance, and making choices that work for your real life.

There’s no shortage of nutrition advice online, but if it’s overly restrictive, unrealistic, or doesn’t fit your lifestyle, it’s probably not going to last.

Sustainable habits will always beat short-term perfection. Whether that means adding more protein at breakfast, cooking at home one extra night a week, or simply eating more consistently, small changes can add up in meaningful ways.

Nutrition should work for your life, not the other way around. What’s one healthy habit you’ve actually been able to stick with? ⬇️

A little Friday reality check: not everyone has the time (or desire) to prep picture-perfect meals all week.

And guess what? You don’t need to.
Convenience foods can make healthy eating more realistic, not less. The goal is finding habits you can actually stick with.

Plant-based. Plant-forward. Vegetarian. Vegan. 🌱
What do these terms actually mean and can you really get enough protein eating this way?

On episode 77 of The Keri Report, I’m joined by chef, author, registered dietitian and good friend, for a practical conversation breaking down the differences between these eating styles and how to make them work in real life. We’re also talking protein, meal planning, and why eating more plants doesn’t have to mean giving up balance, satisfaction, or flexibility. Listen now on your favorite podcast platform! 🎙️

If guilt had calories, we’d all be over our daily limit.

Feeling bad about what you eat doesn’t make your choices healthier—it just makes your relationship with food more complicated. One meal, one snack, one day… it’s not the problem. The pattern matters, not the moment.

Let go of the guilt. Keep the awareness. Move on.

Because the healthiest approach to eating is one you can actually live with.

Nutrition advice has gotten… a little overwhelming.

But most of the time, you don’t need to:
– overanalyze every ingredient
– fear every packaged food
– or spend 10 minutes decoding a label

Start simple:
Look at the basics — fiber, protein, added sugar — and move on.
Because eating well shouldn’t feel like a full-time job.

Is there information on a food label that confuses you?

Episode 69 of The Keri Report, “Keeping Your Mouth Shut in Regards to Other People’s Health & Body,” is honestly one we all need to hear. 🎙️

During this episode, I break down when it’s appropriate to offer guidance about someone’s health… and when it’s better to stay quiet (even with the people closest to you). I also shares 5 helpful ways to point others toward credible information, if they’re actually asking for it.

Plus, I touch on why comments about someone’s body, no matter how well-meaning, can have a lasting impact.

Bottom line: if they didn’t ask, they probably don’t need your opinion.

Listen now and share with someone who could use this reminder 🤍
