If sleep has gotten harder lately, you're not imagining it. Sleep disturbances are one of the most common complaints during perimenopause and menopause, and they can affect mood, focus, and how you feel all day.

The encouraging part: a few small, consistent habits can make a real difference.
- Wind down for an hour before bed, same routine, same time each night.
- Cool the room down. A slightly cooler bedroom helps signal your body it's time to sleep.
- Ease off screens in the hour or two before bed.
- Add a little light movement, like gentle stretching or yoga.
- Go easy on caffeine and alcohol later in the day.
- Skip large, heavy meals close to bedtime.
- Reach for sleep-friendly foods like nuts, seeds, or a banana with peanut butter.

None of this is one-size-fits-all, and menopause looks different for every woman. If sleep is consistently disrupting your days, a conversation with your physician is the right next step, and a health coach can help you build these habits into a routine that fits your life.

Weight loss might be the most over-explained topic in health. It is also the one people feel least able to act on. Our registered dietitian says the food industry and the media have overcomplicated it, sending a lot of people through cycles of quick fixes followed by regaining more than they lost.

What she recommends is much less exciting:
- Cook more of your own meals.
- Eat more whole, fresh food, especially leafy greens.
- Keep a food diary for a stretch, long enough to see your real patterns.
- Give the day some structure instead of grazing through it.

None of that is new. The hard part was never the information. What is one habit that actually stuck for you? Tell us in the comments.

Feeling tired, cranky, or just a little off lately? Your hormones might be part of the story.

Your body makes more than 60 different hormones, tiny messengers that quietly shape your energy, mood, sleep, and appetite. When they drift out of balance, you tend to feel it. The encouraging part is that some of the most effective steps toward balance are ones you can start on your own.

It really comes down to four familiar habits: eating nourishing food, moving regularly, managing stress, and protecting your sleep. None of them is a quick fix, and none works exactly the same for everyone, which is why a little personalized support goes a long way.

If you think your hormones may be out of balance, the best next step is a conversation with your physician, who can take a closer look and guide you. And a health coach can help you turn those four habits into a routine that actually fits your life.

Did you know August is National Immunization Awareness Month?

It's a good moment to check in on something easy to overlook. Vaccinations protect you, and they also help protect your family, your neighbors, and the most vulnerable people in your community, like infants and older adults.

If it's been a while since you reviewed your vaccination status, bring it up at your next appointment. A quick conversation with a physician who knows your health history is the best way to find out what's right for you.

Have you ever felt guilty for having mixed feelings about your health habits? Wanting to stay active but dreading the workout. Caring about eating well but not wanting to give things up.

Those mixed feelings are completely normal. They're not a sign you lack willpower, they're simply part of how change works for everyone.

What actually derails people isn't mixed feelings. It's all-or-nothing thinking. The kind that turns one missed day into a reason to quit.

A recent global wellbeing report found that people who take the time to do things at their own pace report 15% higher wellbeing. Not the fastest pace or the perfect pace. Their own.

If you've been starting and stopping, the answer may not be more discipline. It may be a pace you can actually sustain. That's something our health coaches help members build every day. Learn more at the link in bio.

Some of the most persistent health beliefs are about alcohol. Here's what the science actually says about three of them.

The red wine myth has been around for decades. The idea is that antioxidants in wine, like resveratrol, protect your heart. The problem: you'd need to drink to the point of toxicity to get a therapeutic dose, and alcohol itself increases the risk of atrial fibrillation and hypertension. If you want those antioxidants, fruits and vegetables deliver them without the tradeoff.

The nightcap myth feels true because alcohol is a depressant, so it can make falling asleep easier. But as your body metabolizes it overnight, brain activity increases and sleep quality drops, especially REM sleep. If you're drinking on a night out, stopping at least four hours before bed can reduce the impact.

The stress relief myth works the same way. That first drink triggers a dopamine boost that feels like relaxation. As it wears off, nervousness and anxiety can rebound higher than where you started, which can lead to reaching for another drink. Exercise, a hobby, or time with people you love does the job without the cycle.

None of this is about never enjoying a glass of wine. It's about knowing what's actually happening so the choice is yours to make.

When you need a specialist, the question isn't just who's available. It's who's exceptional.

CCPHP membership includes a nationwide referral network connecting you to Castle Connolly Top Doctors. These physicians represent the top 7% of all practicing physicians in the U.S.

What makes a Top Doctor? They're peer-nominated, then thoroughly vetted by our physician-led research team. Best-in-class providers who embody excellence in clinical care and interpersonal skills, because how a doctor treats you matters as much as how they treat your condition.

When was the last time a piece of wellness advice told you to do less?

Most of what we hear about health is about adding. More steps, more supplements, more tracking. But a recent global wellbeing report points in a different direction.

People who take breaks from social media report 9% higher wellbeing. People who set boundaries in their work and personal lives report 13% higher. And people who practice meditation report 12% higher.

Notice what these have in common. None of them ask you to do more. They ask you to quiet the noise so you can hear yourself again.

If your routine keeps growing but you don't feel better for it, simplifying might be the most productive thing you do this year. Our health coaches work with members on exactly this, finding what matters and letting go of what doesn't.
