After a long NYC laptop day, the banded scapular retraction is one way to train the muscles around the shoulder blades.
With light resistance, draw your shoulder blades gently back without shrugging, then return slowly. The goal is controlled movement… not forcing your body into a rigid “perfect posture.”
For some people, this exercise can support upper-back strength and shoulder control as part of a broader plan. It cannot identify the cause of neck or shoulder symptoms, and it should not create sharp pain, tingling, numbness, or symptoms into the arm.
If the same tension keeps returning, a PHW assessment can help clarify whether workload, mobility, strength, shoulder mechanics, or another factor deserves attention. Book through the link in bio.
